Meet & Practice Attendance
We understand that summer is a great time for travel, and we respect that family time. There is no required minimum number of practices that swimmers must attend. You do what works best for your schedule. BUT, we ask that swimmers attend as many practices as possible to receive the full benefit from endurance training and stroke technique. and also so that they feel prepared and confident during their meet events.
Swim meets provide an opportunity for the swimmers to measure the progress of their training and practice. Swim meets are also a social time, which enables the swimmers (and parents) to build friendships with fellow teammates. If your swimmer is going to miss a swim meet, you should let the Coach know in advance (preferably no later than the weekend before if you know) and you also MUST declare your non-attendance on the meet sign-up page by the required deadline. Keep in mind that to qualify for Divisionals, a swimmer must swim in at least TWO dual meets. To qualify for Championships and Classics, a swimmer must participate in Divisionals.
